About Me

Hi, I'm Amy Bromley—a social worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through life's challenges. Based in Adelaide, South Australia, I am dedicated to creating nurturing, healing-centered systems that empower children, families, and the professionals who support them. In 2022, I completed my PhD at Flinders University, exploring psychological empowerment and systemic change in Australian child protection. My findings show that the only way to create meaningful change in our systems is to support practitioners to be able to continue to do this work ethically and to the highest standard. This means challenging our systems to stop constraining good practice by prioritising paperwork over people and instead to focus on relationships.

Drawing on my own experience of moral trauma and distress, my work focuses on how systems are harmful to children, families, and practitioners by using coercion instead of empowerment and surveillance instead of support.
With a deep commitment to bridging research, policy, and practice, I collaborate with government, NGOs, and universities to build more humane and effective responses to family vulnerability. My approach is grounded in critical realism, trauma theory, and a belief that meaningful change begins with relationships.
Nature shows us that interconnectivity is vital to wellbeing.

My practice is rooted in evidence-based modalities tailored to your unique story:
  • Nature-Based Therapy: Sessions often incorporate elements of the environment to foster mindfulness, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
  • Somatic Approaches: Gentle body-centered techniques to release stored tension and reconnect with your innate wisdom.
  • EMDR informed (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): Powerful for processing trauma and reclaiming safety.
  • Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy informed (AEDP): Building secure attachments and recognising the role of relationships in healing.

I specialize in anxiety, trauma, and relational dynamics, always with empathy, curiosity, and a commitment to your pace. I blend clinical expertise with the serene beauty of our landscapes to create a safe space for growth.
